Aspirant Mayor Roy Ga has urgently called for action regarding the increasing flood risks and the impacts of climate change on Iligan. As the city faces more frequent
and intense flooding due to changing weather patterns, he stresses the need for immediate disaster preparedness, including the enhancement of the city’s drainage
system and solid waste management practices.


“Flooding is not just an inconvenience. It is a serious threat to the lives and livelihoods of Iliganons. The increase in rainfall intensity,
especially during the rainy season, has shown us that our current infrastructure is no longer enough to handle the growing demands of a changing climate.
It is time for us to take a proactive approach,” Roy Ga stated.
