Australia and England every two years. It started after the 1882 victory of Australia over England at Ovals, which was the first Test win on England soil. In response, England captain Ivo Bligh promised to "regain those ashes" from the Australian team. Thus, the tour was referred to in the English media as the "quest to regain the Ashes."
