INTRODUCTION:
We all know that childhood is a crucial period in any individual’s life. This is the time where childlearns different behavioural patterns that help them cope with life. They observe the adults in their lives and learn how to react to challenging situations through modelling. The childhood experience shapes the personality of an individual.
But sometimes the children find it difficult in following the behavioural patterns which results in behavioural issues. Behaviour issues can be defined as patternof disruptive behaviours. The behaviourof children can be classified into two categories: externalizing and Internalizing.
Externalizing behaviour: Children with externalizing behaviours have challenges that are uncontrollable and unmanageable.These behavioursare often seen in disorder like ADHD, ODD, conduct disorder.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): A child with this disorder will find it difficult in concentrating in one thing. They will show the symptom of restlessness and hyperactivity.
Oppositional Defiant Disorder: A child with this disorder often exhibits behaviours like hostility towards authority and disobedience.
Conduct disorder: A child with this disorder will show symptoms like societal norms by exhibiting aggressive behaviour.
Internalizing behaviour: Children with internalizing behaviours have challenges with their moods and emotion. These behaviours are often seen in disorder like separation anxiety disorder, socialphobia, childhood depression.
