Rudraksha is made up of two words, Rudra means Lord Shiva and Aksha means tear. It is believed that Rudraksha originated from the tears of Lord Shiva. Rudraksha is a pearl-like drop that appeared from the eyes of Lord Shiva, after receiving which the supernatural power flowed in the whole nature and reaching the heart of the human being helped in awakening it.
Rudraksha trees are found in South Asia mainly in Java, Malaysia, Taiwan, India, and Nepal. In India, they are found in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Dehradun. The rind is removed from the fruit of Rudraksha and its seeds are cleaned by dissolving it in water. Its seeds are used in making garlands etc. in the form of Rudraksha.
